Picnic @ Singapore Botanic Garden

Went to Singapore Botanic Garden on Saturday for picnic. It's been a while since I went there.
It could be traced back to my university graduation when we went there for photo shooting. My wife was there as well! :)
Having a car definitely made travelling and bring picnic stuffs much easier.

Botanic garden... A place popular for wedding photo-shooting. We saw a few couples during that day.

Time for picnic!
My favorite Otah!
Laying back... enjoying the sky and my otah with bread!
Orchid Garden...
Can you spot "it"??

Fulfilling my promise of buying the car... Better quality of life... (Happy Dear?)

Nasi Lemak Breakfast @ Changi Point

Last weekend, my brother's family, my wife and I went for a breakfast outing. My brother was suggesting eating nasi lemak at the Changi Point. So I drove everyone in my new car. :)
We went to the Changi hawker centre to get our food first before we headed for the actual site.

My niece "driving" while waiting for her Dad to buy breakfast. ;)

Good Stuffs...

Quite a number of people fishing on the sunny day. We were enjoying our breakfast and watching people fishing.

Taking of Pelham 123 @ Golden Village Great World City

I always like John Travolta... and Denzel Washington is a very good actor as well.
So when my wife and I missed her "first choice" movie "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" yesterday, I jumped into catching the "Taking of Pelham 123".
Well... that was not the main topic I want to talk about though... But I have to say the movie was nice! :) John as cool as before... Denzel as composed as usual.

It's about the experience we had during the movie. We were catching the movie at Golden Village Great World City. Ha... yes, now with own car can travel further to catch a late night movie. Ok... the show was going well till the last 5~10min... Suddenly the movie seem to be muted while there was still some background sounds from the railway train, cars...etc. What happened??

The scene when Denzel caught up with John; pointing the gun to John. They were having an argument on a heavy-traffic bridge. Initially I thought it was a special effect or done on purpose... "Wow... pretty artistic" But everyone started to feel a bit strange since there was still Chinese subtitle. Someone shouted "Hey, I dunno how to read Chinese subtitle!" The theater burst into laughter. After a while longer, we knew it must be a technical problem. By then, it was already end of the show anyway.

The patrons started to move out and could hear people complaining. Believed someone complained to the GV management and people started to crowd around the sales counters. So much about the bad stuff, but I have to give credit to the GV management team there. They reacted fast and allowed the patrons to refund the movie tickets immediately with complimentary tickets for future movie.

Though it's kind of disappointing that the movie was "spoilt" with the missing conversation, I felt the GV management did the correct thing in compensation and did it in a swift manner. Well done. (or they experienced this pretty often? :p)

BTW, I can read Chinese subtitles... so not missing out too much...

Last thing... had a quarrel with wife on other stuff along the way home. So pissed... Flared up...
You apologise if you said something wrong! Just like what the GV management did... ok?! Not a good day after all...

End of Season 08/09

It's end of the season for English Premier League few weeks back...
Spurs finished 8th and just missed out the Europa Cup for next season... :(
But given the dreadful start during the start of the season, we Spurs fans could be grateful to even stay up I guess.
With the end of the season, it means no EPL games in the next few months... Damn... :(
My wife is the happiest now, since we no need to rush back home for soccer games or fight over the TV with me.

Sigh... boring...

Lucky got my new car to keep my spirit high. ;)

Marina Barrage

"Built across the mouth of the Marina Channel, the Marina Barrage creates Singapore’s 15th reservoir, and the first in the heart of the city. With a catchment area of 10,000 hectares, or one-sixth the size of Singapore, the Marina catchment is the island’s largest and most urbanised catchment. Together with two other new reservoirs, the Marina Reservoir will boost Singapore’s water catchment from half to two-third’s of the country’s land area.

The Marina Barrage is the result of Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew’s vision nearly two decades ago when he envisaged damming the mouth of the Marina Channel to create a freshwater reservoir."

Marina Barrage was ready since few months back. I was hoping to visit the place then, have picnic or relax there during a sunny weekend. But it was pretty inconvenient without your own transportation.

So when I got my new car last week... guess what?!? I went to Marina Barrage for a weekend outing with my wife! :p

Auspicious icon? Ha...
See the new Casino under construction at Marina Bay?
Cloudy that day...
Vision...

Check it out!

Our New Car - Honda Civic!

It is been around a month since we booked our car. Initially I felt... "Well, I have searched ~8months for the car, what's the problem of waiting for another few weeks?" But as time passed... the anxiety grew... "When can I get my car..??" Haha...

At last... last Friday our new car was ready for collection! Yes! :)
I took a half day leave to pick up the car at LengKeng, accompanied by my wife and mum. So excited that I barely could sleep from Thursday night till even last night! :p

My wife and my car! Our car - Honda Civic!
It's a Honda... :)
And a Civic! Face lift '08
I was driving most of the time this few days. My wife got her first taste on the car the 2nd day (Saturday). :) She was keen to drive and I promised her some driving lessons. Well, she does have a valid driving license, just that it was quite a long long while since she last drove. So she needs to pass my driving tests first. Hahaha... Get her used to the car slowly before let her drive longer distance or even on her own. But I would say she fared ok during her "first test". :p
Remembering the purpose of buying the car...
1) Family bonding
2) Quality of Life
3) For work convenience
Hopefully we can work towards the 1st two points. ;)

New Circle Line (SMRT)

Over the weekend, my wife and I took a ride on the new circle line (the one in yellow line). Now the North-East Line and North-South Line is linked, so should make journey shorter for some of the people. When other stations open in the future (currently in dotted line), it will be linking up with the East-West Line as well. Convenient for the backpacked tourists when visiting Singapore? :)

There was a mini show at Bishan MRT station over the weekend. Mini party in an underground station?!? Wow... That's refreshing! :p

Arrival of some Taiwanese guest singersParty time! Hey, dun block the train entrance/exit... Ha...
Catching a train or catching a glimpse of the stars? :)
