F1 Sinagpore Grand Prix - 1st Ever Night Race!

My 1st post after marriage huh...

Ok... Now... First-ever night race in Formula One history! Right here at our doorstep -> Singapore! We made history on the 28th Sept 2008. Wow... How about that?!

It has been prepared for a while. Building a new pit stop area, improvement of the existing road condition and not forgetting set-up the stands in the last few days of preparation for the street circuit.

I guess there were not that much F1 fans in Singapore before this. But the buzzes of F1 coming here have definitely stir up lot of interest now! I personally watched some races occasionally on TV, not a die-hard fan though. However the atmosphere of the actual race happening in Singapore makes it feel so different; just like going to the National Stadium for live Malaysia Cup games!

Well... having said that, I did not pay $500 to watch this F1 race. My wife and I were at Clarke Quay on the race day. And we decided to walk towards the tracks to "hear" the race and smell some burning rubber(from the tyres). We were standing just outside the boundary near the Supreme Court. You can actually see a lot of people trying all means to catch the race "free" (not paying $ for a view). There were people climbing some building walls, brought ladders, children sitting on parents' shoulder...etc. Very interesting sight and the atmosphere is superb!

Fernando Alonso won the race at the end of an eventful night. He was at the 10th+ position during the start... Way to go man!

Waiting for the next time F1 comes back to Singapore again... Get your tickets if you missed it this time round! I might just start saving $ for my very own ticket! :p

It's about time to sit back and relax... after this recent 6 days of sleepless nights...

Off They Go...

First Robbie Keane... Now Dimitar Berbatov...

Spurs top two profilic scorers last season had left the club for "greener" patches?

With 1 points from a possible 9 points so far. Can Spurs' new boys fill the gaps left by Keane and Berbatov...?

Answers available at end of the season...
