Fuel Hike... Again

For once I don't feel the pinch of the latest fuel price hike. It's the 13th time (in Singapore) since last July according to some report. This is crazy and by the rate it is going worldwide, I think the world is going to war...
Now that my car is gone, the fuel price does not concern me that much though I still feel a bit frustrated. Perhaps it's the fundamental element of daily life. It will have a knock-on effect for the rest of the stuffs.

Oil barrel hitting USD140? Soon it will be 200...

Euro 2008

I saw the movie "Kungfu Panda" last week, not bad a show.

But what was really the "in" thing recently are the "Euro Panda"! Ha...

"Euro Panda" = People who watched the Euro2008 games in midnights and became Panda (black eye)...

Well... strange enough, though I like watching soccer, Euro Cup is never a tournment I fancy a lot. I would take leave to watch a World Cup tournment or spent weekends catching EPL, Champions League... but not Euro Cup. This year is no difference. So far I only watched 1 game.

But I'm actually betting in a pool with my colleagues for this tournment. I predicted a Portugal and Holland final; Portugal to win... Unfortunately, the boat has sunk already with both teams failed to pass the quarter-final stages... :(

Sink... sank... sunk...

Car Less

I mentioned about my car before... How it skid and crashed around a year ago...
I complained about oil prices before... How prices shot up during the last couple of months...

What I might not have mentioned are the car repairs I had in between where I spent near to a thousand dollars...
What I also did not mention is the frustration of more ERP gantries and increase of charges (though I might not have been affected that much since I seldom travel past them).

Recently the car broken down again... in the time when I might just need a car for wedding preparation?

I gave some deep thought for a few weeks.. Decided to scrap the car which has served my family for 16 years... It's a combination of everything. The frequency of breaking down, oil prices, maintenance costs...etc. My Mum and GF seem supportive of the idea.

I was making a few calls last 2 days and now I'm handing over the car keys to the buyer(dealer) on Monday morning. It was just a matter of 3 days... That's it. It's that simple... Too simple for my liking... :(

I have a sudden feeling of sadness... It's like having a pet which is dying of old age...

I was spending some moment with the car. Removing important stuffs from it (CDs, cashcard, accessories). Guess what I found? Some old song cassettes! You don't listen with these nowadays. I wonder if some of the kids actually see one of these before?! These are the ones which my family used to listen to even on our previous car. I could still hear some of the songs replaying in my mind. (Sigh... sign of getting old).

The car... 16 years.... part of my life (times when I drove to school, NS, dating) , memories together with my family including my late Father. When I shifted (few years back) from my old flat which I spent over 20 years growing up in, I had similar sentimental.

One thing that the car did not provide was the number to strike 4D. Ha... Cannot recall a single time the number came out. I was betting BIG amount on this weekend (the last one) to see if the car bring me any last luck. Unfortunately, no again... Perhaps it's mission was to serve us from point to point, not 4 auspicious numbers.

Take care, pal...

Wedding Photo Shooting

Hmmm... It's been a while since I last wrote on my blog. Quite a number of stuffs were going on during the past few weeks.

After the "eventful" final fitting on the 28th May, my GF and I had our photo shoot on the 30th which was 2 day later. We were very excited about it. And this time round I switched off my mobile phone completely to ignore all calls; to fully concentrate on the photo taking session. :)

There were 3 couples having photo shoot during that day, kind of crowded. We were expecting just us... anyway, we were not letting this spoilt our day as we were keeping a happy mood! :)

Guess what...?? I had make-up for the 1st time in my whole life!! Culture shock when the make-up artist said "It's your turn now" after she was done with my GF! Trimming my eyebrows... putting powder on my face... *Fainting*

Overall, we had fun during the session. Smiling all the way (for the camera) till cramp... Ha... not really lah.

When we were done with the indoor shoot and ready for outdoor, it started to pour... Took a while to decide what to do, but eventually we opted for another day for the 2nd part shoot.

The re-arranged session was 2 weeks later on 13th June. We took a full day leave and head to Tanjong Pagar again. After dressing up and make-up (again... 2nd time in my life :p), we went out with our photographer for a day of outdoor adventure! ;)

We went Changi area for seaside view... Pasir Ris area for "forest" and "desert" background... We wanted a scenery concept. Hopefully the pictures will come out good.

Finally, just for the record, I clinched my $7 Million deals for my company. Incentives/bonus..., boss?

Good day, gentleman... :)
