Life is like...

Life is like a plate of over-cooked BBQ food... (Ha... Sorry not chocolate today.)

It grilled you... burnt you... and made you taste like shit...
Ha... pretty pessimistic today huh...? Suits the picture from BBQ over the weekend.

Singapore Flyer

It was my niece's 1st year old party around 3 weeks back. My brother and sister-in-law threw a birthday party for their little princess. Hmmm... that's fast, already one year old. The next moment we will be celebrating her 21st birthday huh? :)

After the party, my brother suggested we go to the newly built Singapore Flyer, our latest attraction. The whole ride takes 45min! Seeing Singapore in a brand new angle!

Future Integrated Resort (Views from Flyer capsule)
Playing soccer on a floating platform?!
Wow... We are almost reaching the peak
The capsule can hold more than 20 people! Party time!

Next time I shall try it again during the night. It will be a different feeling when you look at the night skyline and lightings.
Check it out! A must try if you are visiting Singapore!

Respect...

It's been a while since I last wrote on my blog. Maybe too busy... maybe too lazy...

During the last few weeks of tomb sweeping (Qing Ming) festival, I went to the Mandai Cremation and Columbarium twice to pay respect to my late father and my GF's grandfather. It's crowded as usual during this period of the year. Smoke and ashes from the burning of joss sticks and incense papers covering the whole area. Air pollution huh...

Hopefully there will soon be more environment-friendly ways to make offerings to our late beloved ones and ancestors.

As we were around the vicinity, my GF's family decided to visit some other ancestors. I heard them describing the location to be somewhere near some famous people's "unit". Well... I was not too curious or bothered during that time.

To my surprise, they were actually talking about our former (4th) Singapore President, Dr Wee Kim Wee! He is one of the most loved President.

People's President, Late Dr Wee Kim Wee

I saw his tomb just beside the rest of the common Singaporeans! I heard he wanted (his last wish) to be cremated and placed at common cemetery just like the normal people. You would thought that he will have a memorial place built specially for him some where more exclusive. Not at a humble corner together with the rest of the Singaporean. He was indeed the people's President who have touched many Singaporeans.

His life philosophy written on his tomb (if I remembered correctly)... "We came into this world with nothing on our back, and we will leave this world with nothing on our back".

I had a sudden strong feeling toward our fromer President... RESPECT...

I pay my respect to him before we left the place and will only be back again in a year's time.
