Too Fast Too Furious

He skid... I skid... He crashed... I crashed...

It's Friday night drizzling, my GF and I just finished our dinner. We were supposing driving on our way to meet up my colleagues for a durian feast. This article would have been an article full of durian pictures and critics. Instead it will be about my car which I had intention to write about some time back. Was planning to write... How my old car looks like with 3 different tyre rims and how I manage to drive in such an old car while my friends are driving new cars. What I see in a car... for reaching PointA to PointB or a symbol of status...etc? Well, also not about the car itself now but the accident involving my car...

Back to the Friday night...
We were just exiting the expressway when the lorry in front of us started to skid and spin on the wet road. It banged onto the roadside as it lost control. Immediately I stepped on my brakes to avoid any collision. Yes, I prevented a collision with the lorry but... the next thing I realized was my car also started to skid, my instinct "Damn! Shit!". Things were happening too fast too furious. I could not even recall properly how we were threw about as my car spin and knocked against the roadside curbs and barriers. It might have just lasted for 5 seconds but it might have determined our lives... My car ended up facing the on-coming traffics. I could see that the cars behind us had stopped a distance away as they look on in a state of shock.
As we started to regain our senses from shock, my GF turned to me and asked "Dear are you ok?" Checking if I'm hurt. I responded "I'm ok, are you ok too?" She nodded. I got out of my car to assess the damages. My right front tyre was flat and back of the car was hit badly.
Both the lorry driver and I drove our vehicles to the side to avoid any traffic jams. He examined his lorry (some damages to the front), cursed about his luck and drove off after that. Damn... my tough luck?
Is it the lorry driver's fault to cause my accident? Is it the wet road condition? Is it my fault to drive fast on a rainy day? Is it the condition of my car is to be blamed? Is it curse...? Too many questions to answer...
I changed the spare tyre and drove on... Planning where to get my car fixed in the next few days. Also to get my GF out of her shock and worries.
Now at least we can say we been through life and death...

A Walk in the Park (or rather Beach)

A young lady friend of mine and I went to the beach this evening after having dinner at a nearby restaurant. We were doing a bit of catch up since the last time we met each other few months back. Gossips, her BGR stuffs and jokes all the way.

Though it's a Tuesday night, we can still see quite a number of couples around the area.

Beach - is a memorial place for me. I always have this sentimental "Gan Xi" feeling whenever I come here. I used to hang out these areas with one of my good friend when we were younger. My guy friend and I would sit on the rocks at the beach and talk about our future all night long. Well, more on when we will get ourselves a girlfriend. :p We were young back then, craving for someone to love. Ha... We would also bring along a portable radio. Try to picture that... love songs, moonlight, sea breeze and sound of the waves(perfect ambience and setting huh?). Wonder if people thought we were gay?! Ha... Btw my good friend is happily married now and I'm grateful to be with my GF, so we are always perfectly straight!

A visit back to the beach tonight with my young lady friend doesn't really bring back the same type of memories though. But it is definitely a walk in the park (or rather beach) again...

Man Not Crazy Today

It's quiet today, nothing really crazy happened. Maybe it's Monday Blues when things are moving very slowly. Meetings, conference calls, gossips... etc. Heard Thierry Henry going Barcelona, I care less. I'm a Spurs fan!

To spice things up a bit on this boring day... Come on!!!

A day @ Vivo City

A kiss from Mickey?

Heard about the LG Chocolate Mobile Phone? Didn't know they come in real chocolate as well! Ha... Love to have a bite! (A display made with real chocolate)

Do you know what is "hot" in Singapore nowadays? What's the fever? It's Doughnut Fever! Can't understand why is people queuing hours just for doughnuts... Isn't it the same as what we used to eat? What's so different in all these new wave of doughnuts? Perhaps I need to try them out someday.

Btw, I did not queue for it today and I hate queuing...

My New Camera

Eventually went out yesterday to meet up with my GF in town.

Been eyeing to get an own digital camera for a while already. All along I have been borrowing digital camera from my brother whenever I need to use one just like the last Japan trip couple months back. Yes, it's about time I get one camera for myself.

We knew that M S Color at AMK is selling these electronic gadgets at very competitive prices, therefore made a trip down there.

Finally... my first very own digital camera in the form of Canon IXUS 950! Now I can snap whenever and wherever I want! Well, there is a limit my current handphone camera can do, you know. Check this out.... Cool...

My GF insisted she get this for me... so THANK YOU DEAR! :)
Maybe because I got her some expensive clothes from Massimo Dutti earlier during the day. :p

You can expect to see more "Maria Sharapova" here next time...
Ready? Game on...

Minor Renovation

It's Saturday but I'm home feeling a bit sick. Guess it a good opportunity for me to do a bit of "renovation" on my blog, hope it will look better.

Changed the overall template and colour. Now it looks greenish which fits my Mango theme... Ha... maybe should also incorporate yellow as well in the future. Also added my image for whoever likes to catch a glimpse of me. Err... not exactly my face though, but hopefully my hand does the trick too! :p

I think it is common that a blogger wants to know how many hits his/her website is being visited; I'm not exception. Did some research on the web and finally added a counter from the StatCounter. Now I can have a gauge on how popular my blog will be, and throw a party to celebrate when it hits 1 million! Hmmm... dream on... should be laughing under my bed if it manages to have 1000 visitors in the next 1 year. And perhaps 90% of those visits come from myself and the remaining 10% comes from people going to the wrong webpage or my friends (whom I begged them to have a look). Maybe some pictures of hot chicks and fast cars might help the cause? No harm trying...

Good try? Ha...

Who wants to be a Millionaire?

Well, I guess that is a pretty easy question to answer. I would think that 99.99% of the people would not mind becoming a millionaire. Of course there is always some weird people around who prefers to be poorer; I have learned and come to conclusion that all sorts of people do exist in this world!

GST (Goods Services Tax) in Singapore will be raised from 5% to 7% in coming month (July ‘07), however even before that, we have already been observing quite a number of price hikes on several occasions. What a good excuse and timing to increase the prices?! Does not sound right to me. Perhaps I should do the same thing when I set up my own business next time. Join them if you simply can’t beat them…

Things are just getting more costly as the standard of living become higher. As I now always say… everything will continue to get more expensive, there is no point to grumble. The only way to beat the system is to make much MORE money. Then the increase in prices (inflation?) will become negligible.

So how can we make much more money…? There seem to be a lot of happy people around recently due to the present bull run of the stock market. Everyone is making a killing. But that makes me wonder, if everyone is winning then who is losing?? “Last Fool Theory” as what my colleagues pointed out. Guess I will leave this conspiracy theory discussion for another day.

Another way is to buy lottery, though I seem to be doing more of the “investment or donation” part rather than the collect winnings portion. I used to whack quite a sum on 4D every now and then, but soon realized that it does burn quite a big hole in my wallet. In order to win BIG, you need to bet BIG. So I started to switch to ToTo where I can bet SMALL and have the opportunity to win BIG. My impression is 4D and ToTo have the same probability of winning. Ha… I know, I’m just being ignorance and naive. Or trying to console myself? Well, if there is a ToTo millionaire winner every week, why can’t that person be me?

Meanwhile, let’s get back to work and wait for the next paycheck…

Sigh... before I signed off, my ToTo tickets today did not kana any prize again.

I'm a Blogger??

Hmmm... Cannot imagine I start to "blog"... Perhaps I'm a bit slow since it's been around for a while. Guess things do happened when Man Go Crazy...

Is it a way to express oneself, to relieve stress or just for the fun of it...?

Well, maybe I will find out my answer in coming days...
