Singapore 2010 - Youth Olympic Games

The 1st ever Youth Olympic Games (YOG) has just concluded.
During the 12-day event (14-26 Aug), young athletes around the world had fought for honours and glory. Singapore is proud to be the 1st host for such competition!

Team Singapore won 2 Silver and 5 Bronze during this YOG, which is encouraging for a small nation like us.

New Past-Time...

My new past-time during the last few weekends (1+ months?) is to go view condos and showrooms...

It all started when my wife started to nag and pull me to see these new launches advertised on the weekend newspapers. She always wanted to stay in a condo ever since we got married. So difficult... Thought her husband owns a gold mine... :(
Anyway I reluctantly went with her to a few showrooms. Going through the motion since I don't think that was my priority for now, though I believe property is a good long term investment . In fact I went for some property course (CEA) few months back.

We randomly went to different area and districts. She was leaning towards West side, because it's near to her workplace and my in-laws home.
As time goes by and we went to more visits... well... I have to admit I got more interested and we did do some serious studies on our own financials. This is a big ticket item, much bigger than my car purchase (current biggest). Have to say, the prices are very high now... When we just got married, we did check out some condo prices for fun, they were in range of 700~900psf. Now the average psf seem to be 1200~1400psf. Of course it depends on which district and lease (99yr or freehold?). Will market crash in next few months? World economy don't seem to be back in recovery path yet though Singapore recorded good GDP growth last few quarters.

Hmmm... buying for stay or investment...? To target condos that are HDB upgrader category or high-end condos...?

Saw plenty of floor plans... brochures...

I spent 8 months looking for a car... So for a house... probably 2 years?!? Haha...

Henderson Waves

I wanted to visit Henderson Waves (bridge) for a while but just didn't make the effort all this while. It was last Sunday and the next day is National Day, my wife and I decided to go there to explore and relax.

We are at the foot of Mount Faber.

It was a great time out at Henderson Wave. Can see people there relaxing or having small picnic.

My next target outing... HSBC Treetop Walk... :)
