New Spurs Manager - First Win of the Season

Harry Redknapp - The new Spurs manager to succeed the sacked Ramos.

This comes just before the Bolton game... which Spurs won 2-0! First win of the season! What a morale booster! And what a start to Redknapp's job. (finger crossed...)
Well... but I'm not going to jump in any conclusion as yet. The season is still long and Spurs is still bottom despite the first win.
Not to mention he is one of the many managers who is going to manage Spurs in recent years...
Can Redknapp help bring Spurs out of the brink of relegation?
Suspect it's not going to be easy. Tough job ahead...
Come on you Spurs!!!

Ramos, Poyet, Comolli SACKED...

"Sack Damien Comolli! Sack Damien Comolli! Abolish Director of Football structure! Let the manager decide who to buy!"

SACKED: Comolli
That was my cry after much dismay with the team's start to the season. The moron spent tons of money in the past few seasons with most of them questionable. Players were bought when other positions were needed. The structure of sporting director is too destructive to a football club. I strongly believe the Manager should have say on the players he wants.

Having said that, the Ramos is partly responsible for the team results as well. Other than winning the League Cup, the league form was awful... This form was carried over from last season and Spurs is still winless in the English league after 8 games. Rooted in the bottom of the division and relegation is a possibility. Unacceptable...

So the verdict is out... All of them are SACKED!

SACKED: Poyet and Ramos
Supporting Spurs during the last few months has been very painful... Not only have to endure the sub-standard football from my favorite club and losing results, I have to endure all the mocking from colleagues as well...

New Handphones (Nokia 5320 & E71)

Last Sunday, my wife and I were on a "shopping spree" at M1 shop Paragon...

Well, it's her birthday last week. I promised her to get her a new handphone as the birthday gift. Her old hp was about 2 years old. Nowadays who used hp more than a year huh. (err... my first hp lasted me 5 years)

As she was looking through the different models, I was also taking some time on the latest model phones. And... I decided to get myself a new hp as well! My current hps (yes, I got 2 hp :p) are quite old too. Furthermore I have a $500 upgrade voucher I could use, so basically I will be getting my hp for free. :)

We decided on our new hp. My wife getting the Nokia 5320 while I get the Nokia E71. My voucher could only be used on my $300+ hp, but even with that I still have some excess $$ to spend on the accessories. We took some time to figure out what we want. A bit spoilt for choices... "Got $$$ but dunno how to spend" type of feeling. Ha... feels good... (if only this is in a bigger magnitude like couple of million dollars) .

We ended up getting an additional bluetooth earpiece. Two extra 4Gb mini SD card. Guess what??!! One 4Gb costs only S$26!! Damn... dirt cheap!! No wonder the semicon industry is dying... :(

Took some pictures with my new hp (with low resolution though).

Lot of "freebies"
Realised that I still have some points in my credit card, so utilized that to pay for my wife's hp as well. End of the day, did not fork out any cash for any of the things. :p
Forgot to mention that purchasing the Nokia 5320 entitled us with another bluetooth earpiece and $50 Hagan Das ice cream voucher. Never felt so good lobang before...
My old handphones
Hmmm... now I have too much backup phones... Trade in, anyone? Ebay...?

Economic Meltdown... Recession?

Recession on the way...? Or we are already stuck in the mid of it?

Finance sector seem to be in a big mess... Businesses are looking gloomy... retrenchments are expecting to be exercised soon...

So will I become a victim of this crisis?? Hard to rule that out...
Life is short... Pray Hard... -_-"'

Suck things happened together huh... as Spurs find themselves at the bottom of the English Premier League. Pitiful 2 points from 7 games...

Buying a Car

If you have read my previous post, you might have suspect that I'm inspired to buy a car after watching Formula One race. Ha...

Well... not true (yah right?).

I sold my old Nissan Sunny car few months back. Life without a car is still ok, just a bit inconvenient at times; Travelling at work and especially during my wedding preparation. At one time, I even need to rent a car for some occasion.

So after settling my wedding, it's time to look into possibility of getting a car. My wife pretty much buy into this idea. In fact, she is two thumbs up for this. My in-laws are staying far from our place, so getting back to her mum's place is quite tiring without own transport.

Last Sunday, we went to Leng Kee Rd to look at cars and took the opportunity to test drive a few as well. :)

1st Stop... Honda...

Honda has been my favorite brand since young. "My first very own car will be a Honda!". Ha... The Nissan Sunny I had was a family car, so not counted. :p
Remember I just mentioned a rental car? I purposely rented an older version Honda Civic. Therefore my very first rental car is a Honda! :p (No pride...)

Ok... ok... I went to test drive the Civic 1.6. Guess what? I love it... The ride was smooth and quiet. Enhanced my liking for the brand. Just that Honda is typically more expensive compared to its peer.

There is the new Honda City model as well, but no test drive. The new model still looks a bit too small for my liking.

Next Stop... Mitsubishi...

Mitsubishi Lancer Ex 1.5 is one of my recent favorite in term of appearance. Very stylo milo... But I heard quite a number of negative comments from people and forum. So it's time for me to try it out myself.

The drive was noisy... :(
Performance-wise a few notch below Civic, since my impression of earlier test drive is still fresh.
If the ride is slightly better, I might be able to compromise with the good outlook. Now I need to re-think... It was my first choice... :(

3rd Stop... Subaru...
Heard there is a new sedan version for Impreza 1.5R, so went to have a look.
The ride in the car was good. Comparable with Civic but somehow I felt the car was heavier. Less fuel efficient eventually? Look of the car is ok.

Last Stop... Toyota...

We were actually on the way back when my wife suggested that we should take a look at Toyota cars. Toyota was not exactly on the top of my shopping list. I felt they are more towards "Family Car" category similar to Nissan. I'm a Beng-wannabe lor... :p But I have to admit that it is the best value for money cars. Good price, good fuel consumption, spacious... etc.
Indeed, a test drive in the Altis 1.6 give me the "headache" to re-evaluate my plan. Go for a good-value but less attractive car like Altis or expensive good-looking cars??

That wrapped up the day for my wife and me. With lot of things to consider and balance (cost/look/performance).
Comments are welcome! What's your thoughts on these cars? Other cars I should consider as well?

Maybe should buy a Renault (just won Singapore Grand Prix race)... oops... not inspired by F1 race...
