First Fitting

It's the first fitting for my GF's wedding gowns. And we were looking forward to the event.

My GF took a half day leave while I applied a day leave hoping to have a good rest before the appointment (as well as a break from work). Sigh... unfortunately I was still on my email till 12pm... missing my planned swimming trip.

We were early when we reached the Tanjong Pagar bridal shop. We were hanging around and relaxing in the shop as our coordinator was busy with someone else. Help in getting into the mood. :)

Then the "work" started... of course it's my GF who was doing all the "testing" while I gave my opinions. "No, you look fat in that", "Hmmm... this looks good", "Wow, this is sexy..."
She tried the wedding gowns, night dresses and Kua. There are more gowns upstairs, above their main shop on the 1st floor. More trying... We spent around 4 and half hours there. Eventually she chose 2x wedding gowns, 2x night gown. And as for me, the coordinator just took my body measurement.

That's it?! "We will find matching suits according to the gowns that your wife chose"
Yah right... so much attention for a groom... thanks... :(

The whole process is smoother than I first anticipate. Our next appointment will be the final fitting which is 2 days before our photo shoot.

But I'm suspecting that my GF may just changed her mind on her choices along the way. I shall see...

Honeymoon?

Honeymoon...? Do people really need honeymoon after marriage? Was it an excuse to travel oversea or a deal before having child? (Maybe next polling topic)

Well, I can imagine few decade ago, people only go for tour once in their lifetime during honeymoon. Therefore the purpose is pretty significant. Given the modern context today whereby people travel or tour a lot, is it really a must to go for honeymoon?

Over the weekend, my GF dragged me to some Travel Fair at Suntec. She is hoping to go Europe for our honeymoon while I'm a bit reluctant at this moment of time. Kind of short of cash as we are preparing for our wedding, bedroom... etc. Also not forgetting my business plan in mind... I think she realised later that it is quite expensive to go Europe (~$4K per person!). She was moody for the rest of the day.

Hmmm... well, not as if we did not go for any holidays before lor...

We went Genting (Malaysia), Bangkok (Thailand), Bintan (Indonesia).... (Hey, stop shaking your head and let me finish)

We also went HongKong, Macau, Shanghai, Hangzhou (China), Hokkaido, Tokyo (Japan)!
(Pondering) I thought we went quite a number of places...? Must have slipped off my mind...
I have to say that Japan trip is one of the best we had so far! My GF love it too.
I personally been to Germany once for business but nowadays US are the more frequent destination.

Before I plan for my next holiday (or honeymoon), here are some photos I took during my previous travels. (Hey... Not photos downloaded from website...) :(
Germany Trip back in 2002. I was alone.
Las Vegas! :p~~
Hoover Dam. You jump I jump...
HongKong trip with GF
Went Macau as well
Best holiday to date... Japan! Sakura... Sakura...

Frankly speaking, I don't mind taking my GF to Europe tour. In fact, I would love to do so. Just that I need to start saving the expenses... Bread for the next 6 months...?? :(

Catch Him If You Can...

This man is still on the run, almost 1 month after escaping from the Detention Centre. Sad that we actually let such a dangerous personnel get away from "secured" premiers. Complacency?

Large-scaled searches across the island in the past weeks have yet to yield anything. Instead it has created a huge jam at Causeway when vehicles are trying to travel between Singapore and Malaysia. But fight against terrorist is still on.
Is this guy still in Singapore? Will he and his JI group strike back...?

Catch him if you can...

Long Walk and Sweat

It's Good Friday (Public Holiday in Singapore), my GF decided that we should spend time looking for new our bathroom accessories. So she brought me to Jalan Besar to hunt for the stuffs. It was a warm... err... it was a hot day! And we were walking almost half a day sweating ourselves out... :(

The only thing we bought by end of the day was a $3.60 dustbin... Ha... and not forgetting a couple of pictures during the long walk...

Singapore is a multi-racial country!
Jalan Besar Stadium

We were walking past the "New World" and I took some time to take a few shot at the once famous entertainment arena before the 90's. I still vaguely remembered my parents bringing my brother and I there for some movies like the cartoon "Lao Fu Zi"! Hmmm... more than 20 years ago... Now the "New World" is gone, left with a rundown gate, and is replaced by the high-rise condo.

"New World" not that new anymore

Some other old shophouse making way for modern building?

Interesting eating place and it's signboard
Interesting car

We were also passing by Sungei Road where people sell their old stuffs. Just imagine how much miles we covered... I was saying to my GF "Perhaps we can find some cheap old bathroom accessories here!" Her face immediately became longer... Oops... At least I tried? :p

Btw, we ended up having dinner at Orchard Road where we got our $3.60 dustbin.

Jewel Box and Malay Village

Last Friday, it was one of my colleague's last day at work, so we decide to go out for a farewell dinner. (Guess everyone is jumping off the "Engineering" ship) Later in the night we decided to go for a drink at Jewel Box located at top of Mount Faber.

I heard about it and was expecting some interesting and great ambience. First impression on the entrance and the stairs looks impressive. However... after reaching the actual place, I realised that the surrounding or scenery was not that great. Perhaps expectation was high...? Perhaps Sentosa's IR is still under construction; no lightings? Perhaps what we can see is the PSA port? Hmmm... disappointed.

During the weekend, my GF and I were hanging around the east part of Singapore. I brought my GF to Haig Road to have some duck rice which I used to have often during my childhood time. Taste exactly like 20 years ago! (Ha, as if I can really remember how they taste like!) :p
But still good. :)

After that, we went to the Malay Village at Geylang Serai. Took some photo of the old photos displayed there.

Hi, Mr President! Mr Yusof Ishak, our first Singapore President!
Just look at our S$50 note and you will notice him. :)

Blood (Oil) Suckers...

Petrol has yet again hit new height during the last few weeks as crude oil price rises to record level...

It's getting more and more expensive to drive a car nowadays. I remembered my mum used to pay around $30+ to fill up the petrol tank couple years back, now that amount can only gets me half a tank...

But what pissed me off is the petrol companies' behaviour. If you have noticed, whenever the crude oil price goes up they are never too slow to react by increase their prices too. However when crude oil price goes south, they can really take their own sweet time to make adjustment...

"We are still monitoring the situation..."
"Oil was bought at a higher price earlier, it usually take a while for market to adjust..."
What the f**k?! Such different tune when it goes the opposite way?!!

I was expecting the petrol price to go down when 1 barrel of oil went down from US$100 to US$88 few months back. ........ Nothing happened...

But when price now reaching US$110 per barrel, petrol price is increased immediately! KNN...

I really hope the green energy or vehicle concept can take off soon. Then we can teach these petrol companies a lesson... Hmm... or are they the same bunch of blood suckers?!!

Sigh... supply and demand...? Or playing bast**d?

How I wish someone can invent a device to turn sea water into energy... :)
Or the person might just had been silenced by... :(

Damn...

(Sorry for vulgarity)
